Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Systems Analyst for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on evaluating performance, feasibility, and economic viability of solar PV, wind, and storage systems, delivering data-driven insights to clients across the energy sector.

You will perform techno-economic assessments, energy modeling, and grid interconnection analysis, while developing detailed client reports and supporting business development activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of renewable energy analysis experience.
• Proficient in energy modeling software (PVSyst, HOMER, SAM).
• Strong analytical skills for complex data interpretation.
• Good understanding of power systems and grid integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Python or scripting is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of SA energy market and regulatory landscape is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct techno-economic assessments of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind, and energy storage.
• Perform energy modeling and simulation using specialized software to predict system performance.
• Analyze grid interconnection requirements and potential impacts of renewable energy integration.
• Evaluate the performance of existing renewable energy installations and identify areas for optimization.
• Develop detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for clients.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory developments in the renewable energy sector.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to define project scope and objectives.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and business development activities.
• Maintain and update databases of system performance, costs, and market data.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all analyses and data presented.
