Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Analyst for a fully remote role supporting market research, feasibility studies, and investment analysis for solar, wind, and other clean energy projects across South Africa.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of energy market analysis, strong financial modeling skills in Excel, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for clients and project developers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related quantitative field.
3+ years of energy market analysis, feasibility studies, or financial modeling in renewables.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with data interpretation experience.
Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools.
Excellent report writing and presentation abilities.
Familiar with solar PV, wind, and battery storage technologies.
Knowledge of South African energy policies and regulatory environment.
Ability to work remotely and manage multiple tasks independently.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive.
Based in East London or willing to work remotely within SA.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis on renewable energy technologies and trends.
Perform detailed feasibility studies for solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects.
Develop financial models to assess project economics, including ROI, NPV, and IRR.
Analyze regulatory frameworks, policy incentives, and market dynamics affecting renewable energy development.
Prepare reports, presentations, and investment proposals for clients.
Collaborate with engineers, project developers, and financial institutions to gather data.
Monitor and evaluate performance of renewable energy assets.
Identify new business opportunities and potential project sites.
Stay updated on technological advancements and policy changes in renewables.
Contribute to strategic development of the company's energy analysis offerings.
