Placements24 is seeking a proactive Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead end-to-end solar and wind projects in George, Western Cape. You will drive planning, development, construction and commissioning to deliver on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, 5+ years in project management for renewables, and strong leadership and communication skills. PMP certification is a plus in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management with renewable energy focus.
• Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This role is central to expanding our renewable energy portfolio, focusing on solar and wind energy initiatives within the Western Cape . You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of these projects, from initial planning and development through to construction and commissioning, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of renewable energy projects, including site selection, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential project challenges.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including community engagement and investor reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations, safety standards, and project specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
• Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from conception to completion.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
