Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will design electrical systems for solar, wind, and other renewables, ensuring efficient grid integration and high reliability.
You will perform load calculations, develop diagrams, and oversee installation, commissioning, and testing while liaising with grid operators and stakeholders to drive sustainable energy projects forward.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design for renewables.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design and grid interconnection standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD, PVSyst, ETAP and related design tools.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for renewable energy installations (solar PV, wind).
- Perform load calculations, sizing, and equipment selection for inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
- Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
- Ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Coordinate with grid operators and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of systems.
- Troubleshoot grid integration and system performance issues.
