Placements24 seeks a Lead Wind Turbine Technician to manage a remote portfolio of wind farm sites. You will lead technicians, ensure safe, efficient operation and maintenance of turbine systems, and drive reliability across assets.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in wind turbine maintenance, strong leadership, SCADA and diagnostic tools experience, and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a relevant trade qualification (e.g., Red Seal).
• Minimum of 5 years as a Wind Turbine Technician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/lead role.
• Proven experience with major wind turbine manufacturers and models.

Responsabilités

• Lead, train, and mentor a team of wind turbine technicians, ensuring high performance and safety standards.
• Oversee and perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on wind turbines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on turbine systems.
• Utilize SCADA systems and diagnostic tools to monitor turbine performance and identify potential problems.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and company procedures.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely ordering of components.
• Coordinate with site managers and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and resolve issues.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and performance data using CMMS.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and operational efficiency.
• Champion a safety-first culture among the maintenance team.
