Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a remote Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to design and manage sustainable water and wastewater systems across a variety of projects. This role supports public welfare and ecological sustainability while enabling flexible, fully remote work.

You will model networks, conduct hydrological studies, prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions, and collaborate with distributed teams and clients using modern digital tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional registration (e.g., PrEng) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS) and GIS tools.
• Demonstrated experience in remote work environments, with strong self-discipline and communication skills.
• Knowledge of South African water legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and analyze water distribution networks, stormwater management systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydrological studies, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility analyses for water-related projects.
• Develop innovative solutions for water conservation, flood control, and drought management.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies using digital collaboration platforms.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in water resource engineering and sustainable practices.
