About the Role

Our client, a dynamic international non-profit organization dedicated to global health initiatives, is seeking a Remote Volunteer Coordinator to manage their growing volunteer program. This is a fully remote position, ideal for a motivated individual who can effectively recruit, train, and support volunteers from various locations across South Africa and potentially beyond. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a positive and productive experience for all volunteers, matching their skills and interests with organizational needs, and fostering a strong sense of community among remote volunteers. This role is critical for leveraging the power of volunteerism to advance our client's mission and expand their impact. The position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, with a strong capability to manage tasks and relationships virtually.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective strategies for volunteer recruitment across digital platforms.
• Screen, interview, and onboard new volunteers, ensuring a smooth virtual integration.
• Develop and deliver online training and orientation programs for volunteers.
• Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and track volunteer hours using online tools.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support and guidance.
• Foster a sense of community and engagement among a geographically dispersed volunteer base.
• Organize virtual volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives.
• Maintain accurate volunteer database records and generate relevant reports.
• Collaborate with program managers to identify volunteer needs and match volunteers to appropriate roles.
• Ensure volunteers understand and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in volunteer management, human resources, or a related coordination role.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage projects remotely.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong virtual communication capabilities.
• Experience in developing and delivering online training materials.
• Proficiency in using online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams) and CRM systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain high levels of productivity in a remote setting.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Passion for the mission of our client and experience within the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
