Placements24 invites applications for an Upstream Data Analyst to join a remote, globally focused data team. The role emphasizes extracting, cleaning, and interpreting large exploration and production datasets, delivering clear insights, dashboards, and reports for decision-makers across international assets.

You will collaborate with geoscientists and engineers, implement QC procedures, and automate data tasks using Python or R, all from a home office within South Africa.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, CS, Petroleum Engineering or Geosciences.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in Upstream Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar visualization tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Excellent understanding of statistical methods and data mining techniques.
• Ability to interpret complex technical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsabilidades

• Collect, clean, validate, and transform large upstream datasets from diverse sources.
• Develop data quality control procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Perform statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends and anomalies.
• Create dashboards and reports using Tableau/Power BI for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with domain experts to understand data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining data models and databases.
• Support reservoir engineers and geoscientists in analysis and decision-making.
• Automate repetitive data processing tasks using Python or R.
• Stay updated with new analytics technologies in Oil & Gas.
• Promote data-driven decision-making across global operations.
