Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join a progressive, remote-first mining operation. You will design, implement and optimize underground ventilation systems to ensure safe, compliant conditions and maximize productivity, all managed remotely with advanced simulation tools.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of underground ventilation experience, and proficiency with Ventsim or VentGraph.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably underground hard rock.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (Ventsim, VentGraph).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize underground mine ventilation networks, considering airflow, temperature, and air quality.
• Conduct ventilation surveys, simulations, and performance analyses using specialized software.
• Develop and implement strategies for dust control, gas management, and thermal comfort.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation plans into overall mine design.
• Troubleshoot ventilation-related issues and propose effective solutions in a remote capacity.
