Placements24 seeks a Mine Ventilation Engineer for a remote-first mining operation in South Africa. Design, implement, and optimize underground ventilation systems while collaborating with planning and operations teams from a remote setup. Site visits are conducted as required to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will use advanced modeling tools, manage air quality, dust control, and thermal considerations to deliver efficient, compliant ventilation solutions across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of underground mine ventilation experience.
• Experience with ventilation CFD modelling and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and manage mine ventilation networks for airflow and compliance.
• Conduct site surveys, risk assessments for ventilation and dust exposure.
• Develop dust suppression and control strategies.
• Utilize CFD software for ventilation modeling and simulation.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements remotely.
• Provide remote expertise to mine operations on ventilation challenges.
