Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Trauma and Incident Response Specialist to provide remote psychological first aid and crisis intervention for individuals affected by traumatic events. The role requires extensive experience in trauma-informed care and disaster response, with the ability to work remotely across various time zones.

The ideal candidate will conduct remote needs assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and offer counseling and psychoeducation to clients and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field with trauma/crisis specialization.
• Minimum 5 years direct experience in trauma counseling, crisis intervention, or disaster response.
• Proven expertise in psychological first aid and trauma-informed care.
• Registration with a relevant body (e.g., HPCSA).

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate psychological first aid and crisis intervention.
• Conduct remote needs assessments to determine support level.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention plans for individuals and groups.
• Offer remote counseling and psychoeducation to clients and families.
• Collaborate with emergency services and community organizations during incidents.
• Facilitate virtual debriefing sessions and support groups.
• Provide training and consultation to frontline responders on trauma-informed care.
• Maintain detailed, confidential records of interventions and progress.
• Contribute to crisis response protocols and resources.
