Placements24 is seeking a highly specialized Thermal Management Engineer to join our remote engineering team. You will design and optimize thermal solutions for high-power battery systems, using CFD and thermal simulations across international teams.

A strong background in heat transfer and battery thermal management is required. The role offers significant impact, with autonomy to work from your preferred location and collaboration with global engineers, researchers, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with heat transfer and fluid dynamics specialization.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in thermal analysis and design for electronic or energy storage systems.
• Proficiency in CFD software (ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL) and thermal analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with battery thermal management systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for effective remote teamwork.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and analyze thermal management systems for high-performance battery packs using CFD and thermal simulation tools.
• Perform heat transfer calculations and simulations to predict temperature distributions and identify potential hotspots.
• Select appropriate cooling technologies based on application requirements.
• Create detailed thermal models and documentation, including schematics, component specifications, and test plans.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and system engineers in a remote setting to integrate thermal solutions seamlessly.
• Conduct experimental testing and data analysis to validate simulation models and product performance.
• Identify and troubleshoot thermal-related issues throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Contribute to the development of design guidelines and best practices for thermal management.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and materials.
