Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Telecoms Support Specialist to join our growing technical support team. The role is remote-friendly, serving clients across Gauteng and beyond, with a focus on first-line technical assistance and guided troubleshooting.

You will diagnose issues with broadband, VoIP and mobile networks, document interactions, and escalate complex cases to senior staff. A solid foundation in telecom concepts and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a customer service or technical support role is preferred.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications concepts including broadband, VoIP, and mobile networks.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting common software and hardware issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat regarding telecommunications services and hardware.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot common technical issues related to internet connectivity, voice services and mobile devices.
• Guide customers through step-by-step solutions for resolving technical problems.
• Document all customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions accurately in the support system.
• Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support technicians or relevant departments for further investigation.
• Provide feedback to the team on recurring issues and suggest improvements to support processes and documentation.
