Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Remote Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain network infrastructure from anywhere in South Africa. You will monitor network health, resolve issues, and implement upgrades to support business continuity and growth.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in network administration, experience with Cisco/Juniper/HP devices, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT or networking.
• 3–5 years of network administration experience, preferably in telecom.
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper/HP hardware.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and network security.
• Experience with Nagios, Zabbix or SolarWinds monitoring tools.
• Excellent communication and self-discipline for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and security.
• Administer and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, servers).
• Perform backups, disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and hardware/software problems.
• Implement network security best practices (patching, access control).
• Document network configurations and procedures for remote access.
