Placements24 is seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join a remote team. You will provide expert technical assistance to customers, resolve hardware, software, and network issues, and guide users through product features from a remote setting.

Ideal candidates have strong OS and networking knowledge, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Support Specialist or in a similar IT support role.
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), networking protocols, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Proficiency in using remote support tools and ticketing systems.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA) are highly desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive technical support to customers via phone, email, and remote desktop tools.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and update software and hardware as required.
• Guide customers through step-by-step solutions and educate them on product functionalities.
• Document all technical issues, resolutions, and customer interactions accurately in the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior support staff or development teams when necessary.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
• Stay current with the latest technological advancements and product updates.
