Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Program Officer to lead sustainability initiatives remotely, supporting projects in Upington and the Northern Cape.

You will develop and manage programs focused on environmental conservation, renewable energy, and community engagement, coordinating stakeholders, tracking impact, and reporting progress to partners.

The role emphasizes independence, rigorous data collection, and the ability to drive scalable improvements across remote sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in program management or project coordination with environmental initiatives.
• Strong understanding of environmental conservation and renewable energy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.
• Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting on environmental metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement sustainability programs and projects focused on environmental conservation and renewable energy.
• Engage with local communities, government bodies, and environmental organizations to build partnerships and support initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, collect data on environmental impact, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets and resources efficiently to ensure program objectives are met within allocated timelines.
• Conduct research on best practices in sustainability and identify opportunities for program innovation and expansion.
• Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions on sustainability topics for community members and partners.
