Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for steel and concrete facilities in the industrial and mining sectors. The role offers a remote-first orientation with a central hub and potential travel to project sites, supporting safety and integrity across major assets. The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Structural Engineering, is Pr.

Eng. registered with ECSA, and brings 7+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Structural Engineering (or closely related field).
Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
7+ years post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with industrial/mining exposure.
Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000 and ETABS.
Excellent communication and ability to work autonomously in remote/virtual teams.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures (buildings, foundations, conveyors, plant support).
Use STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS for modeling and design calculations.
Conduct remote site inspections and data gathering as needed.
Develop detailed drawings, calculations and technical reports.
Ensure compliance with SANS, Mine Health and Safety Act and international codes.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other disciplines.
Review contractor shop drawings and provide timely technical responses.
Provide construction-phase technical support and remote supervision.
