Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will lead structural design and analysis across commercial, residential, and industrial projects, collaborating with international teams while adhering to SA building codes and standards.
The position requires a Chartered registration with ECSA, a Civil Engineering degree, and 10+ years of progressive experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Bachelor of Science (Engineering) with a Structural focus.
- Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
- 10+ years of progressive structural design/analysis experience.
- Proficiency in Etabs, SAP2000, Robot Structural Analysis and BIM tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design/analysis for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Develop innovative, cost-effective structural solutions with advanced engineering software.
- Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and specifications for execution.
- Ensure designs comply with SANS, NBR, and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers remotely.
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists.
- Stay current with engineering advances and improve design standards.
