Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a sophisticated Remote Procurement Manager to lead sourcing of professional services from anywhere in South Africa. You will develop category strategies, manage supplier relationships, and optimize spend on legal, consulting, marketing, HR, and IT services.

You will collaborate virtually with senior stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with business goals, drive value, manage risk in complex service contracts, and uphold ethical sourcing and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in SCM, MBA or Law or related field.
• 8+ years of procurement experience with a focus on professional services sourcing.
• Expertise negotiating complex SLAs and contracts.
• Strong understanding of professional service domains (e.g., legal, consulting, IT).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for professional services categories.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing: stakeholder needs, RFx, supplier selection, contract negotiation.
• Cultivate relations with service providers and internal partners.
• Analyze spend patterns and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with legal and finance to ensure robust terms and controls.
• Develop and present business cases for procurement initiatives to senior leadership.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and improvement plans.
• Stay current with industry best practices in professional services procurement.
• Ensure ethical sourcing and regulatory compliance.
