Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Procurement Lead to spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives in a remote-first setup with operations linked to Vereeniging. You will lead supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost efficiencies while aligning procurement with business needs.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of senior procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and leadership capabilities in a global supply chain context.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing procurement functions or leading major sourcing projects.
• Proven success negotiating complex contracts and achieving cost reductions.
• Strong knowledge of global supply chain dynamics, risk management, and ethical sourcing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management for remote leadership.
• MBA or relevant professional certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and efficiencies.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement processes from supplier identification and negotiation to contract management and performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain robust supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery and value.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify competitive advantages and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement with diverse business needs.
• Mentor and guide procurement professionals or drive high-impact sourcing projects.
