Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Solar Energy Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in South Africa. You will design, implement, and optimize solar power solutions for both utility-scale and distributed generation, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams from anywhere in SA.

The role emphasizes technical integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance, with expected 4+ years of PV design experience and proficiency in PVSyst or Helioscope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of PV design and engineering experience.
• Proficiency with PV design software (PVSyst/Helioscope).
• Strong knowledge of electrical principles and grid interconnection standards in SA.
• Ability to work remotely and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with energy storage integration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer PV systems, including sizing and layouts.
• Prepare technical specs, schematics, and performance simulations.
• Perform feasibility studies and due diligence for solar installations.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and installers.
• Stay updated on solar tech, storage, and grid integration.
