Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated remote Social Worker to support individuals and families in the Tembisa region from a South Africa-wide telehealth setup. You will assess needs, provide counseling, and connect clients with community resources online.

The role requires a BSW, SACSSP registration, at least 3 years post-qualification experience, and excellent virtual communication. Remote work offers flexibility while staying connected to the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in social work, preferably with community-based programs.
• Proven experience providing remote counseling and support services.
• Excellent virtual communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and digital case management systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, identifying social, emotional, and environmental challenges.
• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and support remotely via secure video conferencing and phone.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans, linking clients with community resources and services.
• Maintain confidential client records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and government agencies to coordinate care.
• Advocate for clients' rights and access to services, ensuring equitable treatment and support.
• Participate in regular virtual team meetings, case reviews, and professional development sessions.
• Stay updated on best practices and relevant legislation within social work and community care fields.
• Manage a caseload effectively, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely follow-up.
