Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Remote Child Welfare Officer to join its expanding virtual team, serving the Tembisa community and surrounding areas in South Africa. The role is fully remote, demanding strong safeguarding skills and the ability to work independently from a home office.

Responsibilities include conducting virtual risk assessments, providing remote counseling and case management, coordinating with schools and healthcare providers, and documenting files accurately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in child protection or social work.
• Experience in assessments, case management, and remote service delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual risk assessments and investigations related to child welfare.
• Provide remote counseling, case management and support to families.
• Facilitate virtual meetings and referrals to social services.
• Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and agencies via digital platforms.
• Maintain confidential electronic case files and prepare reports for reviews.
• Develop remote intervention plans and stay updated on child protection laws.
