Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer for a remote-first team. You will plan, design, and manage water infrastructure projects including water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems, leading complex initiatives from concept to completion.

Strong hydrology, hydraulics, and team leadership are essential. The role offers opportunity to work on national and international projects with a flexible location and a focus on sustainable water management practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is desirable.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling and water treatment design is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and implementation of water resources projects (dams, pipelines, treatment plants).
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water availability and flood risks.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs and provide technical specifications.
• Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
• Oversee environmental impact assessments for water projects.
• Collaborate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs meet national and international standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
