Placements24 seeks a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Transportation Planning for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will lead transportation plans, conduct traffic studies, and model traffic using PTV Vissim, TransCAD, or CUBE while collaborating with remote teams and clients across locations.

The ideal candidate has a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus, 8+ years in the field, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• 8+ years in transportation planning and engineering.
• Expertise in transportation modeling software and analytical techniques.
• Experience managing transportation planning projects and leading project teams.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, including remote collaboration.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and analysis of transportation plans, including long-range strategies and corridor studies.
• Conduct traffic impact assessments, demand forecasting, and feasibility studies for transportation projects.
• Utilize transportation modeling software (PTV Vissim, TransCAD, CUBE) to simulate and analyze traffic conditions.
• Develop recommendations for infrastructure improvements, traffic management strategies, and public transport enhancements.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients.
• Collaborate with remote multidisciplinary teams, including urban planners and engineers.
• Engage with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to gather input and present findings.
• Mentor and guide junior transportation engineers and planners.
• Ensure compliance with transportation standards, policies, and regulations.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in transportation planning and engineering.
• Contribute to business development and identify new project opportunities.
