Placements24 seeks a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong focus on Technology and Intellectual Property to join a globally distributed, fully remote team. You will provide strategic guidance on software licensing, data privacy, IP protection, and digital transformation initiatives for an international business.

The role requires advising on SaaS contracts, cloud arrangements, and cross-border compliance (POPIA, GDPR, CCPA), while enabling product development with pragmatic legal insight.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with focus on technology and IP.
• Experience drafting complex tech contracts and IP licenses.
• Strong knowledge of global IP laws and data privacy regimes.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on technology transactions including SaaS agreements, software licensing, and cloud computing.
• Develop strategies for protecting and enforcing intellectual property portfolio.
• Advise on data privacy and security to ensure compliance with global regulations (POPIA, GDPR, CCPA).
• Support product development teams with legal guidance on new technologies and services.
• Draft, review, and negotiate technology contracts and IP licenses.
• Manage IP disputes and coordinate with external counsel when needed.
