Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator to join its fully remote IT operations team. You will maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure for a global user base.

The role emphasizes security, automation, and proactive planning, with flexible hours and full remote work. A strong background in Windows and Linux, cloud platforms, and scripting will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
• Proficiency in managing Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and network services.
• Manage server hardware, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect systems and data.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.
