Placements24 is recruiting a Remote Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design process for building projects from anywhere in the world. You will provide expert technical guidance, ensure compliance with SANS and international codes, and mentor junior engineers in a fully remote setting.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of building-structure design experience, advanced proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE and Revit Structure, plus a strong grasp of concrete, steel and timber design

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for various building projects in line with SANS and international standards.

• Collaborate with remote architects, engineers, clients and contractors to meet project goals.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Conduct site visits or liaise with site personnel for clarification and problem-solving.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural specialization.
• Professional registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering design, with a strong portfolio of completed building projects.
• Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Revit Structure).
• Thorough knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber design principles and relevant South African National Standards (SANS).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, essential for a remote working environment.
