Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Social Worker to join our client’s team, focusing on child protection in South Africa. You will manage complex cases, provide guidance to a team of social workers, and help develop child welfare strategies while upholding ethical standards.

The role requires an MSW, SACSSP registration, 5–7 years of progressive child protection experience, and excellence in leadership, collaboration, and report writing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated expertise in child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care.
• Proven experience in case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop comprehensive intervention plans for children at risk.
• Provide direct casework services, including counseling, support, and advocacy for children and their families.
• Supervise and mentor junior social workers, offering guidance on case management and professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and educational institutions.
• Prepare detailed reports for court proceedings and other legal mandates.
• Develop and deliver training programs on child protection issues for staff and community members.
• Stay abreast of current legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare.
• Manage a caseload of complex and sensitive cases with professionalism and discretion.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of child protection services.
• Ensure compliance with all organisational policies and ethical standards.
