Placements24 seeks a Social Work Manager to oversee Child Protection Services in Klerksdorp, North West. This senior role leads a team of social workers, ensuring high standards in protection, intervention and support services across complex cases.

The ideal candidate holds a BSW and SACSSP registration with 7+ years post-qualification experience, including 3+ years in management, and strong knowledge of child protection legislation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalent.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in social work, with at least 3 years in management or supervisory role within child protection services.
• In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, policies and intervention models.

Responsabilités

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of child protection social workers.
• Ensure effective case management and service delivery in line with legal requirements and best practices.
• Develop and implement child protection policies, procedures and programs.
• Conduct complex assessments and provide guidance on high-risk cases.
• Collaborate with statutory bodies, courts and stakeholders to ensure child safety.
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback for professional development.
• Manage budgets and resources for the child protection unit.
• Facilitate training and awareness programs on child protection.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure reporting compliance.
• Represent the organization in relevant forums and contribute to policy advocacy.
