Placements24 is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Analyst for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will analyze market trends, model project economics (DCF, LCOE), and advise clients across the energy value chain.

You will lead on technology forecasts for solar and wind, assess regulatory environments, prepare reports, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to business development while working from home.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of experience in energy market analysis, project finance, or strategic consulting, with a renewable focus.
• Strong financial modeling (DCF, LCOE), market forecasting, and risk assessment.
• In-depth knowledge of solar PV, wind energy, and other renewable technologies.
• Strong understanding of South African energy policy, regulations, and market structures.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, Python, R, MATLAB).
• Ability to work independently remotely and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on renewable energy technologies, trends, and policies in South Africa and globally.
• Perform techno-economic assessments and financial modeling for solar, wind, and other renewable energy projects.
• Evaluate the feasibility and profitability of new project opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Analyze grid integration challenges and opportunities for renewable energy sources.
• Develop comprehensive reports, presentations, and forecasts on the renewable energy market.
• Support clients in understanding regulatory environments and navigating policy changes.
• Collaborate with project developers, investors, and other stakeholders to provide expert analysis.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and innovative business models in the renewable energy sector.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the analytical team's capabilities.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new service offerings and client needs.
