Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to join a remote engineering team. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable backend services using Django or Flask, apply best practices for API design, and work with PostgreSQL/Redis in cloud environments.

This is a fully remote, international role supporting fintech platforms. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers across time zones, ensure code quality through testing, and mentor junior developers while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Python
• Experience with Django or Flask
• Strong database design with SQL/NoSQL
• Experience designing RESTful APIs
• Ability to work asynchronously in a remote, distributed team environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Python (Django/Flask)
• Build and manage robust RESTful APIs for front-end and 3rd-party integrations
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases ensuring performance and scalability
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code and perform code reviews
• Collaborate with remote product teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software
• Contribute to system architecture decisions and technology selections
• Ensure security, reliability, and observability of services
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in continuous improvement
