Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join a global, fully remote team. You will develop and manage process safety programs for chemical and mining operations, conducting hazard analyses and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance and operational integrity.

The role requires a chemical or mechanical engineering background, 7+ years in process safety, expertise in HAZOP/LOPA, and CSP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree is a plus.
• 7+ years in process safety engineering in chemical or mining industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Lead PHAs (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA) and QRAs.
• Conduct PSSRs for new equipment and modifications.
• Develop safety-critical equipment lists and mechanical integrity programs.
• Investigate process safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver process safety training to personnel.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and Seveso-like standards.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams.
• Stay updated on evolving process safety regulations and technologies.
