Job summary

Placements24's client, a leading innovator in the chemical industry, seeks a Senior Process Optimization Engineer to advance efficiency, safety and sustainability of manufacturing processes. This fully remote role allows work from anywhere within Johannesburg, Gauteng, ZA and beyond.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years in process engineering, and have hands-on experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS, strong data analytics, and excellent remote collaboration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing.
Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS for process simulation.
Strong understanding of process control, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Able to manage complex projects and deliver results.
Proficient in data analysis and statistics.
Experience in remote collaboration environments.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing chemical processes to identify yield, energy and waste improvements.
Develop and implement innovative process solutions using simulations and models.
Design and oversee pilot plant studies to test modifications.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure safe implementation of changes.
Monitor performance and troubleshoot remotely.
Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
