Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage robust security for a global enterprise. This remote-friendly role requires deep expertise in firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and EDR, with a focus on safeguarding complex networks across locations.

You will lead vulnerability assessments, drive security policies, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with IT teams to embed security into network design.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and managing secure networks.
• Expertise in TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Proficient with NGFW, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and EDR tools.
• Experience with VPNs and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong threat management and incident response knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications desirable.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure access solutions.
• Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify threats and incidents.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to remediate weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices.
• Lead incident response efforts from investigation to recovery.
• Collaborate with IT to integrate security into design and implementation.
• Stay updated on threats and countermeasures; mentor junior staff.
• Maintain thorough documentation of security infrastructure and procedures.
• Provide guidance to the team on security architecture decisions.
