Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations across multiple sites including Mahikeng facilities. You will diagnose and guide complex repairs from your home office, coordinating with on-site teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in mechanical engineering, with strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment, and hands-on experience with CMMS and remote diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Proven ability to diagnose remotely and guide repairs.
• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment.
• Experience with remote diagnostic tools and CMMS.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert remote technical support and troubleshooting.
• Analyze performance data, maintenance logs and sensor readings.
• Develop repair procedures and best-practice guidelines for on-site teams.
• Conduct remote inspections and diagnostics using video and monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance strategies and asset management.
