Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic IT initiatives in a remote-first setup. You will translate business goals into actionable IT roadmaps and oversee delivery across software development, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.

You will steer multi-disciplinary teams, manage budgets and risks from anywhere, ensuring governance, security, and value delivery while collaborating with stakeholders globally and in Pretoria and beyond.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years in IT project management with strategic focus.
Proven ability to lead complex IT projects from initiation to closure.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management in virtual teams.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Asana, and MS Project.
Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Business, or related field.
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications desirable.
Experience leading remote teams.
Autonomous and results-driven remote worker.

Responsibilities

Translate IT strategies into executable project plans and roadmaps.
Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects.
Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and resources remotely.
Facilitate collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.
Identify and mitigate risks and issues; ensure timely resolution.
Oversee procurement of IT hardware/software/services; manage vendor relationships.
Ensure alignment with IT governance, security policies, and compliance.
Track progress, KPIs, milestones; provide status updates to senior management.
Promote PM best practices and tools across IT initiatives.
Conduct post-project reviews for lessons learned and continuous improvement.
