Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Group Financial Accountant for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will lead IFRS-based consolidation across subsidiaries, manage intercompany eliminations, and drive enhancements in group reporting processes from your home office.

The ideal candidate has a CA(SA)/ACCA/CPA, 6+ years in group accounting, and hands-on Hyperion or SAP BPC experience. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for a remote, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA)/ACCA/CPA) mandatory.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with group consolidation and IFRS.
• Experience with large ERP/consolidation tools (Hyperion, SAP BPC).
• Strong IFRS expertise including business combinations and currency translation.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead consolidation of financial statements for multiple subsidiaries under IFRS.
• Manage intercompany loan and trade reconciliations and eliminations.
• Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and provisions for group close.
• Perform variance analysis at group level vs budgets/forecasts.
• Ensure compliance across jurisdictions and assist with audits.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
