Placements24 seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a fully remote team delivering geotechnical analysis, design recommendations, and site strategies for projects across Mpumalanga and beyond. The role emphasizes autonomous work, clear remote communication, and high-quality technical outputs.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering with 10+ years of experience, and proficiency in GeoStudio and Plaxis.

Qualifications

• Advanced geotechnical analysis including slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity.
• Experience interpreting borehole logs, CPT data, and site investigation results.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and remote project support.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity calculations.
• Develop comprehensive geotechnical investigation plans and interpret borehole logs, CPT data, and other site investigation results.
• Provide detailed design recommendations for foundations (shallow and deep), retaining structures, and earthworks.
• Assess seismic hazards and design structures for earthquake resistance where applicable.
• Write clear geotechnical reports and provide technical support to project teams remotely.
• Collaborate with project managers, geologists, and structural engineers via digital platforms.
