Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geoscientist for a fully remote role with administrative ties to Mahikeng, North West. The successful candidate will lead seismic interpretation, basin analysis, and integrated subsurface modeling to identify hydrocarbon prospects and support exploration strategy.

The role requires 8+ years in Oil & Gas, advanced degrees in Geoscience, and strong remote-work capabilities. Collaboration with global teams and regular technical reporting are essential.

Formación

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive exploration geoscience experience in Oil & Gas.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, structural geology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Strong petrophysics, well log analysis, and data integration skills.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geoscience software packages.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for remote work.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience in South African basins or frontier areas is a plus.
• Adaptability and proven remote-work success.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret seismic data (2D/3D) to identify structures and hydrocarbon prospects.
• Perform basin analysis and play fairway mapping.
• Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build models.
• Use Petrel or Kingdom Suite for data analysis.
• Conduct petrophysical analysis of well logs.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geoscientists.
• Prepare technical reports and prospect evaluations.
• Stay updated on geoscience technologies and methodologies.
• Contribute to exploration strategies and work programs.
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
