Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a fully remote role operating from Sandton, South Africa, with a globally distributed finance team. You will oversee general ledger, close processes, and IFRS/US GAAP reporting while driving policies, intercompany reconciliations, and automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds a CA(SA) or equivalent qualification with 6+ years in multinational environments, strong ERP and Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate across time

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent international qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multinational corporations.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP is essential.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
• Proven ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing general ledger accounting and financial close processes.
• Preparing and analysing IFRS and US GAAP financial statements.
• Developing and implementing accounting policies for a remote setting.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting the annual audit process with external auditors.
• Identifying process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Mentoring junior finance team members.
• Ensuring tax compliance across regions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders worldwide.
• Contributing to financial planning and analysis as required.
