Job summary

Tidal seeks a Controller or Senior Finance Manager for a remote, full-time role to support 8–9-figure DTC brands across apparel, CPG, home, and consumer goods. You’ll own financial reporting, revenue and inventory accounting, cash flow oversight, and audit coordination while partnering with leadership, eCommerce, merchandising, and operations for scalable financial processes.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years freelancing experience
• Excellent written and verbal English communication (C1 or C2 level)
• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA or CPA-equivalent certification preferred
• MBA in Finance or Business preferred
• Strong understanding of DTC, marketplace, and wholesale revenue models
• Deep knowledge of inventory and cost accounting
• Experience supporting US or EU-based companies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Independent, detail-oriented, and systems-driven

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting
• Ensure proper accounting across revenue, returns, chargebacks, and payment processors
• Manage cash flow forecasting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversee revenue recognition across DTC, marketplace, and wholesale channels
• Reconcile data between eCommerce platforms, payment gateways, and fulfillment partners
• Lead inventory accounting, reserves, landed cost tracking, and margin analysis
• Maintain internal controls and support audit and tax coordination
• Improve ERP workflows, reporting accuracy, and financial automation
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership on financial strategy
