Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), develop CI/CD pipelines, and automate infrastructure as code.

This role emphasizes automation, security, and operational excellence in a distributed work environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong scripting skills, and hands-on IaC and container orchestration experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration principles.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Automate system administration tasks and monitor system performance and availability.
• Manage Docker and Kubernetes containers and orchestration.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve deployment frequency and reliability.
• Ensure security best practices across all infrastructure.
• Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies and trends.
