About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Remote Senior Corporate Counsel to provide high-level legal expertise and strategic guidance from a distance. This role is essential for overseeing complex corporate transactions, ensuring robust governance, and advising on a wide array of legal matters affecting the company's global operations. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with executive leadership and business units, leveraging technology to deliver exceptional legal support. This is a premier opportunity for an experienced in-house lawyer seeking a challenging and flexible remote role, based conceptually near Sandton .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate governance, securities law, and regulatory compliance for a multinational organization.
• Lead and manage significant corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, and financing documents.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies, procedures, and training programs across various business functions.
• Oversee and manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, including engagement with external counsel.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and the Board of Directors on critical legal issues.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with a minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in corporate law, preferably within a large multinational corporation or top-tier law fund.
• Extensive experience with M&A, corporate finance, securities regulations, and corporate governance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal projects and provide strategic business counsel.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, adept at remote collaboration.
• Proactive, business-minded approach with the ability to anticipate legal needs and risks.
