Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled remote Corporate Lawyer to join its globally distributed legal team. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere within South Africa and supports autonomous, deadline-driven work in a modern digital environment.

You will counsel on M&A, corporate governance, compliance, and contract negotiations, draft and negotiate international agreements, and collaborate with internal teams and external counsel via virtual channels.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with 6+ years in corporate or M&A law.
• Proven expertise handling complex corporate transactions and providing strategic legal advice.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel on complex corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.
• Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial agreements and international contracts.
• Ensure compliance with corporate laws, regulations, and internal policies across different jurisdictions.
• Advise on corporate governance best practices and assist with board and shareholder matters.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct legal due diligence for potential investments and acquisitions.
