Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Computational Biologist for a fully remote role. You will develop models and workflows to analyze omics data, build systems biology models, and drive therapeutic insights in collaboration with a distributed team of biologists and data scientists.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a quantitative field and has 5+ years in computational biology or bioinformatics, with strong programming skills and knowledge of ML and network analysis.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Perl.
• Experience analyzing high-throughput biological data and applying systems biology approaches.
• Familiarity with network analysis, pathway modeling, and ML techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational models to analyze large-scale biological data.
• Design and implement bioinformatics workflows for pathway analysis and systems modeling.
• Integrate diverse datasets to build comprehensive systems biology models.
• Identify biological drivers and predict responses to interventions.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design experiments and interpret results.
• Develop robust, reproducible computational pipelines and code repositories.
• Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
