Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Roads & Pavements) for a fully remote role. You will lead design, analysis, and project management of major road projects from a home office, collaborating with a national network to deliver high‑quality infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in roads/pavement design, a Master’s in Civil Engineering with a Transportation or Pavement focus, and Pr Eng registration with ECSA.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with Transportation or Pavement focus.
• 8+ years’ progressive experience in roads and pavements design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead geometric design, pavement design, and construction supervision for road projects.
• Develop detailed design reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Conduct traffic analysis, site investigations, and materials testing oversight.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
• Ensure designs and construction comply with SADC, SANS, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders in a virtual environment.
• Review and approve engineering plans, calculations, and submissions.
• Stay updated on pavement engineering innovations and construction technologies.
• Contribute to business development and client engagement.
