Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Development Specialist for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes from concept to pilot scale, leveraging simulation and experimental methods to boost yield and purity while conducting techno-economic evaluations.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in process development and a proven ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process development and R&D.
• Expertise in process design, scale-up, and troubleshooting complex chemical systems.
• Strong background in reaction engineering, separation technologies, and process intensification.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote work environment.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes from conceptualization through to pilot scale.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters, yield, and product purity.
• Utilize advanced simulation and modeling techniques to predict and improve process performance.
• Conduct techno-economic evaluations for proposed process changes and new technologies.
• Collaborate with research scientists, engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Author detailed technical reports, patent applications, and research proposals.
