Placements24 is partnering with a research team to recruit a Senior Bioinformatician for a fully remote role focused on genomics and personalized medicine. You will develop scalable pipelines, apply statistical analyses to omics data, and collaborate with researchers across time zones to drive impactful discoveries. The role requires a Ph.D.

or M.S. in a related field, 5+ years of bioinformatics experience with NGS, and strong programming in Python/Perl with R for statistics.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on bioinformatics experience with a focus on NGS data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or Perl, and experience with R for statistics.
• Familiarity with common bioinformatics tools, databases, and reference genomes.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning for biological data.
• Excellent communication and ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
• Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.
• Develop and maintain data management systems and databases for biological information.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to address research questions and design experiments.
• Create clear and concise reports and visualizations of analytical results for scientific publications and presentations.
• Contribute to the development of novel algorithms and computational methods for biological data analysis.
