Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatician to join a fully remote research team focused on genomics and transcriptomics. This role involves developing and applying computational tools to analyze large-scale biological data and uncover insights that drive drug discovery.

You will design pipelines, perform advanced analyses, collaborate with biologists and clinicians, and communicate results through reports from a home-based laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years hands-on bioinformatics experience focusing on omics data.
• Proficiency in Python and R.
• Strong background in statistical modeling and ML.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools, databases and public repositories.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing NGS data.
• Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic and transcriptomic data.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate questions into analyses.
• Develop and maintain data management strategies and tools for large datasets.
• Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings remotely.
